Tufts University Central Power Plant, Medford Massachusetts

Tufts University Central Power Plant, Medford Massachusetts

Tufts University is a research and liberal arts college located in Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts. The school’s infrastructure system was aging and a cogeneration plant providing 4 MW of power will reduce its energy costs by 20% and increase the electrical power reliability to the Medford campus. The Central Energy Plant will provide steam, hot water, chilled water, and electricity to the Science and Engineering Complex. Eaglebrook provided survey services to layout the steam, condensate, hot water, and chilled water lines throughout the upper campus and provided as built drawings for use by the university facilities department. We also provided control for the construction of the Central Energy Plant including column lines, elevations, and control points during the building construction.
